MAKS students - Lecture Absences

Informing the Faculty of Media and Knowledge Sciences about Lecture Absence

MAKS students are kindly requested to abide by the following procedure when they are absent from lectures:

1. Students should inform the Faculty Office*, by sending an email to maks@um.edu.mt, about their absence prior to the lectures which they are unable to attend.  The email should include:

a. ID card number;
b. The course and year of study;
c. A scan/photo of any relevant documentation, medical certificate, medical note and/or COVID-19 quarantine notice as issued by the Superintendence of Public Health in order to substantiate their claims.

2. Should all supporting documentation listed above not be readily available at the time the email is sent, this should be sent in a follow-up email to the Faculty  Office, using the same subject heading, at the earliest opportunity.

3. Students should also separately advise their lecturers via email about their absence prior to the lectures which they are unable to attend.  Students should not send supporting documentation or medical evidence to lecturers. Any such documents should be sent to the Faculty Office (see 1c above).

4. The submitted medical evidence will be stored safely at the Faculty Office until course completion or termination.  All evidence will be destroyed immediately upon the student’s graduation or course withdrawal.

*This email address is for MAKS students. Kindly inform the relevant Home Faculty of your absences.
