Rector's statement 2022

Rector's statement 2022

The University is greatly indebted to all the students, academics, administrative, technical and industrial staff, as well as our external stakeholders who endeavoured to strive ahead notwithstanding the difficult circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic which have continued during 2021. We have joined universities around the world to adapt and evolve in a time of crisis and to continue moving ahead.

The University of Malta Strategic Plan 2020-2025 has completed two years of its five-year timeframe, during a global era of disruption that we certainly could not foresee when we set out on our journey. The interruptions the world has experienced since early 2020 have certainly affected our university community, but it has also given us the courage to innovate rapidly in the face of adversity particularly in the adoption of online technology for learning and teaching.

We reassert our commitment to the 8 Strategic Themes of the University of Malta as a roadmap for our academic and administrative community, where we have developed a culture of aiming for higher standards and diligent implementation.

The new Summary - UM Strategic Plan 2020-2025  synthesises our dedication to continuous development which will guide us to collectively achieve the goals and vision of the University of Malta.
