Field trips, both within the Maltese islands and at overseas locations, are integral to the study of Earth Systems.
The principal aim is to provide hands-on experience of collecting and analysing scientific data in the field, with students working together in small groups on an intensive programme of tasks The field trip experience, which requires students to live and work together outside their usual environment, is also instrumental in developing the key elements of team building, cooperation and communication skills.
