The role of a Student Representative
Student representatives attend and participate in Board meetings and other functions, and present the students' voice. Students may contact their representative should they require advice or to discuss any complaints they may wish to air. Student representatives on Boards of Studies deal mainly with issues related to a specific programme of studies, while broader issues are best referred to the student representatives on the Institute Board.
Board of the Institute
- Ms Izabella Apostolov and Ms Abby Jo Pirotta are currently serving as elected Student Representatives on the Board of the Institute, for a two-year term of office with effect from 10 November 2023.

Boards of Studies
According to the provisions of the University's Regulations for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Awards, up to two representatives may be elected by and from among the students enrolled on each of the Institute's current courses.
B.Sc. (Hons) in Earth Systems
- Ms Kristina Felice Pace was elected Student Representative on the Board of Studies of the B.Sc. (Hons) in Earth Systems for a two-year period effective from 1 October 2022.

M.Sc. in Environmental Management and Sustainability
- Ms Isabella Jenna Bartalone and Ms Erin Rittenhouse were elected Student Representative on the Board of Studies of the M.Sc. in Environmental Management and Sustainability for a one-year period effective from 15 January 2024.

- Mr Daniel White was elected Student Representative on the Board of Studies of the M.Sc. in Environmental Monitoring and Assessment for a two-year period effective from 2 October 2023.
