Level 3: Silent study area

If you prefer to carry out your study and research in a completely quiet environment you can make use of Silent Study Area on Level 3.

In this area, desks are equipped with electrical points for connecting to laptops and tablets. Patrons are not permitted to leave unattended personal belongings on desks for more than 30 minutes. Librarians reserve the right to remove unattended belongings and are not liable for any damages or for lost items.

The floor is equipped workstations displaying the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) where students can search for books, dissertations, audio-visual material together with Melitensia and Reference material available at the Main Library and its branch libraries.

There is also a photocopying and printing machine.

Collections pertaining to the Social Sciences, Law, Education, Music, Art and Architecture, Language and Literature, Sciences, Engineering, Window of Shanghai, oversize books and pamphlet boxes are housed on this floor.

The floor is surrounded by the Archives and Rare Books Department, the Fine Arts Collection, and the Audio-visual Collection. The IT Office and Seminar Room are located on this floor too.
